Hard Style Tricks & Hard Style Choreo — Oakland Pole + Dance

Polina Zueva joined Oakland Pole + Dance as a visiting instructor for two special workshops dedicated to the dynamic movement vocabulary of Hard Style Exotic Pole. The program opened with Hard Style Tricks, an intermediate/advanced session designed for dancers looking to add creative low-flow pole tricks and more dynamic technical elements to their Hard Style practice.

The second workshop, Hard Style Choreo, shifted the focus toward putting movement together into expressive choreography. The class combined controlled, fluid movement with low-pole tricks and floorwork, with choreography adaptable to different experience levels. Students explored the contrast between powerful technical accents and smooth transitions that characterizes Polina’s approach to Hard Style.

Together, the two workshops offered Bay Area dancers both sides of Polina’s teaching style: the strength and precision of dynamic Exotic tricks and the flow, musicality, and performance quality needed to bring those elements together in choreography.
